  • Amp, Power Factor & VAR Recorder

    Varcorder - SensorLink

The Varcorder measures and records Amps and Power Factor. A voltage constant is then applied in software to calculate VARs. The Varcorder uses the same current sensor technology as the original Ampstik. This patented amp sensor does not use magnetic materials and has no moving parts. The opening of the sensor is electronically closed, and external currents are electronically rejected. The accuracy, external current reject, and range of currents measured by the patented amp sensor substantially exceed the performance of the best clamp-on sensors. The true power factor is calculated by measuring the electric field in comparison with the current reported from the amp sensor. The key feature of the unit is the ability to leave it deployed on the line to record readings every 15 minutes for 90+ days. It easily attaches to the line with a standard shotgun style hotstick. Once on the line, it immediately begins to collect and record the current and power factor on the line.

  • Torque Multipliers

    Mountz Inc.

Mountz torque multipliers make tough nuts easy to crack. They boost productivity, giving your workers the power to quickly turn the large fasteners found in the aerospace, transportation, mining, marine, oil/gas, and power generation industries. Mountz torque multipliers can improve process control compared to less controlled options, like impact drivers, and they guarantee quality of work. They generate less reaction torque than impact drivers as well, protecting your workers and their projects from harmful hammering. Electric and pneumatic torque multipliers are also much faster than hydraulic ratchets, helping you get more work done in less time. To top it off, they’re quiet, reducing the din of the workplace and helping to prevent hearing-related injuries.

  • Transformer and Reactor Loss Measurement System

    Measurements International Ltd.

The measurement of electric power and energy at high voltages and currents at low power factors is becoming increasingly important economically as a way to reduce costs in an ever-growing industrial economy. Today the transformer purchaser subjects the transformer manufacturer to an economic penalty for losses that occur in load and no-load conditions. To keep these penalties as low as possible, it is important that the manufacturer accurately measure these losses. Failure to do so can result in the manufacturer losing important contract awards to their competitors who may be utilizing a more accurate system. Using “State of the Art” proven two-stage-currentcomparator technology, the AccuLoss™ Series of transformer loss measurement systems is designed to meet the needs of today’s transformer manufacturer by providing the most accurate power loss measurement system in the world. Designed for power frequency testing and calibration, the AccuLoss™ system can be used for testing small, medium and large power transformers as well as motors and turbines up to 400 Hz. The system is also ideal for R&D facilities. The AccuLoss™ system can also be used to measure losses in single and three phase reactors.

  • High Voltage Battery Test System

9300 Series - NH Research, Inc.

NH Research, Inc. (NHR) has released the new 9300 series, a higher-voltage / higher-power version of its popular single-channel 9210 series battery test systems. The 9210 Series provided a 12kW power module operating at 40V, 120V, or 600V and which allowed paralleling with similar systems to increase the power, whereas the new 9300 system provides a 100kW power module with a software-selectable high voltage range (1200VDC / 167A) and high-current range (600VDC / 333A) allowing for efficient testing of single-voltage and double-voltage Electric vehicle (EV) batteries as well as high-voltage Energy Storage Systems (ESS) used in grid-tied applications. The 9300 further extends NHR’s family of high-power battery test and emulation capabilities which are ideal for analyzing a battery performance under xEV drive cycles and grid-storage profiles such as PJM and time-shifting profiles. Like the successful 9200 and 9210 systems, the 9300 modules are independent allowing for testing of multiple batteries, each with a different test plan, power levels and start/stop times. When higher power is needed, the 9300 modules may be paralleled providing 200kW, 300kW or up to 1.2MW capability. This modular power capability allows a system to be sized to the power levels needed today while ensuring expansion capability should additional power be needed in the future.
